About Sukhayu Wellness
Sukh means peace and joy, and ayu means life in the Sanskrit language.
Inner peace and joy are cultivated from alignment with nature, and harmony of all our domains of existence including physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual domains.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote the well-being of people at individual, community, and organizational levels, respecting the right to a fulfilling life.
Our Philosophy
We believe in a holistic approach at the individual, community and organizational levels that emphasizes harmony with core beliefs and values in order to realize optimal potential. We all have the wisdom to know what is best for us.
“Wellness is the optimal state of health of individuals and groups... [both] the realization of the fullest potential of an individual physically, psychologically, socially, spiritually, and economically, and the fullfilment of one’s role expectations in the family, community, place of worship, workplace and other settings.””
An individual does not exist independently. We emphasize alignment of personal, spiritual, social and professional aspirations.
Our Approach
Our approaches include evidence-based and traditional techniques that enhance well-being. We appreciate the uniqueness of each individual, community and organization and work together to create customized initiatives that are practical and sustainable.
Our Work
We specialize in working with healthcare providers and organizations to enhance professional fulfillment, mitigate burnout, and promote health and wellness in all aspects of life.
“As a physician towards the end of surgical training, the stress, workload, and relationships with other physicians can be a source of severe anxiety… life was starting to take a toll on my health.
I began to have physical symptoms emerge from my anxiety, which included severe abdominal cramps and headaches. Consultation with many physicians resulted in numerous unnecessary exams with no results. I eventually was able to discuss my issues with Dr. Singh and she was able to identify my career as the source of my issues.
Dr. Singh took the time to talk about my schedule, the relationships with my co-workers, and my fears and anxieties associated with my work. She taught me how to breathe when I feel overwhelmed and to meditate on a regular basis. My symptoms completely resolved and a heaviness on my body was lifted. I found enjoyment in my work once again and this led to the better care of my patients with my clearer mind. Without her, I truly believe my time in medicine would have been limited. She has given me joy again in my career and extended my time as a surgeon.””
