MedStudent Catalyst

2-Month Coaching Program

In honor of International Coaching Week, we are excited to offer this new introductory coaching offering for medical students. The MedStudent Catalyst coaching program is designed to provide a transformative experience and empower medical students to reclaim their well-being and cultivate a sense of fulfillment in their personal and professional lives. In this program, Dr. Singh works closely with you to identify your specific needs, aspirations, and challenges and help you design personalized strategies to enhance your well-being.

Physician wellness is the “quality of life, which includes the absence of ill-being and the presence of positive physical, mental, social, and integrated well-being experienced in connection with activities and environments that allow physicians to develop their full potentials across personal and work-life domains.” (Brady, et. al., 2018)

This is a one-time introductory coaching offer open to medical students from around the world.

Our Coach Approach is one of integrative holistic coaching.

Integrativerefers to combining multiple modalities. We incorporate various evidence-based approaches, including mind-body techniques, drawing, journaling, meditation, imagery, breathwork, and more.

Holisticapproaches the individual—and any goal or issue—from an expansive lens by recognizing the interconnectedness of the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of wellness.

Coaching, as defined by the International Coaching Federation, is "an alliance between an experienced, professionally trained coach and the participant in “a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the participant to maximize personal and professional potential.”

Coaching is particularly beneficial for those who:

  • are looking for ways to enhance their well-being and fulfillment

  • are experiencing burnout

  • want to empower themselves to enhance their own health and self-care

  • are considering going “outside the box” of medicine

  • undergoing transitions

  • are feeling “stuck” and want to get “unstuck”

  • are looking to experience everyday life from a new perspective

Coaching is not for you if you are primarily looking for:

  • Someone to tell you what to do: your motivation and self-determination is key to a transformational coaching relationship.

  • Someone to provide solutions: while I offer advice when appropriate, but this is not my primary role.

  • Someone to do the work for you: your success depends on the effort you put in.

  • Guaranteed outcomes: coaching outcomes and the progress we make depend on you!

MedStudent Catalyst Coaching Program

In our MedStudent Catalyst Coaching program, we will work together to nurture your well-being and fulfillment by exploring self-chosen areas of focus throughout the course of regularly scheduled 60-minute sessions throughout the course of two months. During our coaching sessions, we will check in, explore your coaching focus for the session, discuss any obstacles or challenges, and create actionable steps for you to move forward. During these sessions, we will also practice active relaxation techniques, including breathwork, and may practice imagery, drawings, journaling, movement, and other mind-body techniques, as you desire to nurture yourself and access alternate ways of being and knowing other than the mental model.

Following each session, I will provide you with a written summary of session highlights, including the goals you’ve set for yourself. I will also provide individualized resources as desired, including articles, books, and more. In addition, I will check in with you weekly via email to provide additional support and accountability and answer any questions you may have. You will also have the opportunity to reflect on each week’s session.

Getting Started

We begin with an initial one-hour exploration session for you to holistically assess your current situation and potential areas to focus on during coaching. In addition, this session is important for both of us to ensure we are a good fit for each other. I want you to gain the maximum benefit from our coaching engagement!

Once we schedule your exploration session, I will ask you to complete a holistic online assessment form at least 72-48 hours prior to our initial session to:

  • Self-assess your current situation

  • Determine areas you would like to focus on

  • Tell me what kind of support you are looking for

  • Discuss any obstacles you feel you may be facing

  • Explore resources available to support you in your journey

If we both agree we are the right fit, you can choose to join our 2-month MedStudent Catalyst Coaching program.

The Initial Exploration Session is offered exclusively to medical students at the one-time promotional rate of $50 (reduced from the regular rate of $275).

  • This cost does not include the cost of the MedStudent Catalyst Coaching Program.

In order to be eligible for the Medstudent Catalyst Coaching Program, you must be a current medical student in an accredited medical school (MD or DO) and show proof of student status.
